How to choose a university in Malaysia

Start with what you want to learn and the qualification you need. The right university is one where the course and the practical details work for you.

Compare the exact programme

Check the award title, modules, teaching approach, entry requirements and available intake. Ask which campus delivers the course and what support international students can use.

Check accreditation carefully

Search the exact qualification and institution in the Malaysian Qualifications Register. Check the campus location shown. If you cannot find the programme, check the provisional accreditation portal and ask the institution for clarification.

Build a shortlist you can explain

Compare your preferred options using the same questions. Include the complete budget, accommodation, transport and how each course supports your plans.

  • Does my qualification meet the entry requirements?
  • Which campus will I actually attend?
  • What is included in the published fee schedule?
  • Which details still need written confirmation?
